Infineon is an independent listed company of the former Siemens Semiconductor Group in Germany. In 1999, in order to facilitate the further development of Siemens' huge electronic components group, the semiconductor business was independently listed to form Infineon; Semiconductor optoelectronic devices belong to Osram, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Siemens. After being listed independently, Infineon was the fourth largest semiconductor company in the world in 2006. After stripping semiconductor businesses such as memory and wired communication, Infineon formed three major semiconductor device businesses in 2009: wireless communication (COM), automotive (ATV) and industrial diversified market (IMM).
